DIXIE NATIONAL PARADE
Yesterday was the Dixie National Parade. DSMV participated in this event. We had a pretty good turn-out having 9 vehicles in the parade. 5 dfferent jeeps, 3 hummers, 1 truck. sorry to be so generic... I did try to identify correctly on the slideshow. It was nice to have Phil bring his jeep ambulance, it was a real treat! Also from Houma, LA was Bobby Thompson and C.J. Christ with a jeep as well. They had a real attention getter with the flashing red light! The Jeep was provided by the Regional Military Museum in Houma. Sounds like a field trip to me? I did find out that C.J. Christ is an author of a book WW II in the Gulf of Mexico. Perhaps we can have another opportunity to have him talk to us at one of our meetings at a later time. I am posting a "slideshow" of some photos I took of the parade, included are a few snaps that clarion ledger photographer also took (J.D. Schwalm) just wanted to recognize him for that). The pic's uploaded are a decreased pixel size, so if anyone wants copies, contact me (or Doug) by email and I can get you the original pic size for a better print. I will update more later. Happy Trails!
